Manufacturing Software Engineer

PC based Development of production software relating to component trace, product flow mistake proofing and other manufacturing support applications.
Design, test, and validation of applications to support both large and small scale work cell controllers for the manufacturing environment.
Document Software changes through PDM control systems.
Perform assignments involving the planning and execution of a project of limited scope or a portion of larger, more diverse projects relating to MIS needs.
Provide technical support to production and to MIS engineers.
Troubleshoot existing MIS systems to minimize production downtime and ensure smooth system operation.
Independently evaluates, selects, and applies standard engineering techniques, procedures, and criteria using judgment in making any adaptations or modifications.
Performs work that involves common types of plans, investigations, surveys, structures, or equipment.
Customer interface to Process Engineering and other departments.
Works with a team of CIM Engineers to assist in software development aspects of small and large projects.
Knowledgeable in advanced PC Operation and OS Navigation.
Perform other duties as assigned
Comply with and support the health, safety, and environmental programs, policies and procedures.
Education Requirements
Bachelors degree in computer science, computer engineering or related field with 3-8 years experience in software development.
Experience and Skill Requirements
2-3 years experience developing software for a manufacturing environment.
Experience with supporting PFMEA and control plans.
Green Belt / Black Belt Six Sigma trained with practical experience.
Experience with .NET Web design.
Familiarity and/or Experience with Bar-coding technologies, RFID, Vision systems, industrial controls.
Team leadership skills, project management skills, and the capability to communicate and influence others.
Experience utilizing engineering problem solving and decision-making tools.
3-8 Yrs Experience with Visual Basic language and VB.NET and optionally have MCP Certification.
Proficiency in Microsoft Server Technologies.
Database access experience with ADO and MS Access, MS SQL Server, or Oracle
Experience with Microsoft O/Ss.
Experience with local and wide area networks. Proficient with Microsoft operating systems, email skills, knowledgeable in general networking architectureEstimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
